[Miss Jen](https://playmbt.com/en-us/the-rundown-blog/author/miss-jen) April 11 2025 [Pittsburgh travel baseball](https://playmbt.com/en-us/the-rundown-blog/tag/pittsburgh-travel-baseball) ## Join the Joy and Play Ball! ### 🎄 The Spirit of the Season! 🎄 At McKeesport Baseball Tournaments, we believe that baseball is always more than JUST baseball. That’s why our Christmas in July tournament isn’t just about holiday music and Reindeer Games - it’s also about spreading joy and honoring a legacy that embodies the true spirit of any holiday season. #### 🎁 Jamie Brewster-Filotei Christmas Fund This special tournament connects directly to the Jamie Brewster-Filotei Christmas Fund, an initiative dedicated to bringing holiday magic to local families in need. Jamie, whose passion for her community was unmatched, devoted herself to ensuring that every family experienced the warmth and excitement of Christmas. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to helping others left a lasting impact, and we are honored to continue her mission through this tournament.   > "Another friend, Mindy Sturgess, a member of the McKeesport School Board, remembers how Mrs. Filotei recruited and organized the teachers and staff at multiple schools in the district to undertake a special project. Each year, they would select one family from each school to sponsor for Christmas. Sturgess said her friend made sure they got to know the family’s needs. Then they took up a collection, purchased gifts for every family member, including the parents."[https://triblive.com/local/pittsburgh-allegheny/mckeesport-woman-remembered-as-an-extraordinary-teacher-and-friend-of-the-community/](https://triblive.com/local/pittsburgh-allegheny/mckeesport-woman-remembered-as-an-extraordinary-teacher-and-friend-of-the-community/)   #### The Power of Play and Purpose MBT’s Christmas in July weekends blend the excitement of summer baseball with the festive cheer of the holidays. Players and fans can expect for Renzie Park to be decked out in Christmas decorations, teams sporting holiday themed gear, and the unmistakable sounds of seasonal music filling the air. But beyond the fun and friendly competition, this event serves as a powerful reminder that baseball is more than just a game - it’s a platform for bringing people together and making a difference. #### How to Spread the Joy  A portion of proceeds from all 2025 McKeesport Baseball Tournaments go to the Jamie Brewster Filotei Christmas Fund, helping to provide gifts, meals, and support for families who need it most during the holiday season. #### ⬇️ Players and fans can Join the Joy in a few different ways ⬇️ 💰 In-person monetary donations at The Home Plate Snack Bar & Grill, *both cash and cashless options available* 🧸 Dropping unwrapped gifts at the ✨special designated areas✨ 🚛 Purchasing from the [Christmas Fund Amazon Registry](https://amzn.to/4bxchoW) through November 8, 2025 🎁 [Giving monetary donation online](https://square.link/u/tGEC3sKm) through November 8, 2025 Each donation helps keep Jamie’s vision alive, ensuring that more children wake up to the magic of Christmas morning. ####  Join Us in the Spirit of the Season Whether you’re stepping up to the plate or cheering from the stands, your participation in Christmas in July means you’re part of something bigger than the game.
