If you’ve ever wondered what makes The Home Plate tick, pull up a folding chair and let me give you the behind-the-scenes scoop. This isn’t just a concession stand. It’s a fully-operational food-flinging, spirit-boosting, community-loving command center that just happens to smell like French fries and cheese burgers.
The reality? I think about this stand all the time. Like… weirdly often. I dream up menus in the while walking the dog. I design workflows in my car. I wake up at 3am with ideas about signage and crowd control. Why? Because this place is more than a side hustle. It’s a heartbeat.
The Home Plate was built with intention - from how we organize the condiment station to how we greet every fan like they’re walking into a hometown diner. We aren’t just handing out ice cream. We’re replenishing tired parents, hungry players, wide-eyed siblings, and seasoned umpires who just need a hot dog and Gatorade to fuel their next game.
We prep for each tournament weekend like Opening Day of the LLWS. Systems? Locked in. Staff? Trained and hyped. Backup plans? Always on deck. Because when you love what you do - and who you do it for - it shows up with main character energy.
